April's Yoga & Pilates Studio
April has been a Yoga Instructor for the last 20 years. She is certified in Hatha Yoga, Mat Pilates, Pilates Props, Tola and Power Flex. Her main certification came from the New York Athletic Club. Her Pilates certification is from Pilates B Fit. Aprils main interest is Hatha Yoga, but she has studied Iyengar, Kripalu, Astanga and Sivananda Yoga. April began teaching in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she taught in various health clubs, such as Ballys and Golds Gym and at the City and Community Colleges. She also hosted a local fitness TV show, "Yoga Om". April has organized and taught many yoga retreats across the country, hoping to give her students a new perspective on their yoga practise.
In 2002, April was diagnosed with stage 4 Non-Hodgekins Lymphoma. A stem cell transplant 4 years ago, changed her diagnosis and her life. Her new lease on life and April's love of Yoga has inspired her to open her own Yoga & Pilates Studio, within Visions Seaside Spa, to serve the community of Pacifica. April has been teaching at the Stonestown YMCA since 2005. She also volunteers at a camp in South Carolina, called Camp Happy Days, where she teaches children with cancer and their siblings.
April has a unique style of teaching based on her life experiences and her understanding of the needs of each student.
